Presented by Michael Love and Lisa Stratton
This presentation will include a screening of the prize-winning documentary film Bringing Back Our Wetland (SB Film Festival, 2023), about the grand-scale conversion of a golf course back into the wetland it had been historically. Unprecedented in ambition and scale, this visionary project, North Campus Open Space, was completed in 2024. Following the screening, filmmaker Michael Love and project manager Lisa Stratton will lead a Q&A and discussion. Topics will also include the current restoration of Ellwood Mesa Monarch Grove and the removal of oil tanks at Ellwood Marine Terminal. After lunch, Lisa will lead a field trip to the site, formerly the Ocean Meadows Golf Club.
